North Carolina is the New Napa for Wines
Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert said, "Napa's out… the new wines are from North Carolina" on NBC's Today Show recently. Although he was referring to the global warming trend that is already affecting vineyards in Northern California's Napa Valley, North Carolina wineries have long held awards in winemaking. So if you don't have the time or money to travel out west, visit a winery closer to home. Here's to you!

Eastern NC Wineries
The oldest grapevine in America can be found in the Outer Banks. Its sweet white Scuppernong grapes are found naturally nowhere else. The "Mother Vine" is over 400 years old. Duplin Winery is bottling the new wine from cultivated clippings so try some wine from the mother vine soon.
